Our most recently acquired cottage located in Castle Road, Pickering (a quiet, no-through road) just a few metres from Pickering Castle. The 3 storey cottage dating back to c 1910 is built into the cliff above the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Its elevated position offers magnificent views over the historic heritage railway line & Pickering Station, Undercliffe, Park Street, Beacon Hill & beyond.
Sunsets from the rear of the cottage are simply stunning & further views over the Town & distant Flamingoland & Howardian Hills are sublime.
The cottage is undergoing a full, no expense spared complete renovation & we aim to open for bookings early to mid 2024.
Briefly the accommodation will comprise:
Lower floor
New solid ash kitchen with direct access to the small, cottage garden with stunning, elevated views
New ultilty room & wc/ shower room
New dining room (part sub-terranean!)
Middle floor
Entrance hall from castle road
Lovely, cosy living room & dining room (hopefully with access to new glass balcony with seating offering magnificent views over pickering station & the nymr directly below)
Stairs to lower & upper floors
Upper floor
2 double bedrooms (the rear of which to enjoy the wow factor of views & sunsets & the front for those who afraid of heights!!)
Master bathroom
Outside areas
The front acess is directly off the pedestrian Castle Road which leads to the Castle in 1 direction & down the cliff to Pickering Station & Town Centre (c 100 metres distant) in the opposite direction!
The lower floor kitchen opens into a small cottage type garden with seating area enjoying fantastic views & sunsets - a real suntrap!
Please note access to the property is via short, steep inclines & we intend to offer a pre-parking permit in an attended car-park close to the cottage & adjacent to the railway. Access from the car park is via steps & a short, steep minor road.
